A short video of a Peace Corps volunteer who worked in Lesotho. Really interesting. Thanks, ktrendon!
This is a really thought-provoking tumblr. Seeing as we’re a group of privileged college students attending an elite, private liberal arts college, there’s a lot of colonial implications about my upcoming trip to Ghana and it makes me wonder, how does one, as an American, travel to different countries and truly experience them without judgment: without imposing Western concepts of development of progress, without viewing communities as “underprivileged” and “impoverished”, without using terminology implying that Global South countries are inferior to Global North countries, i.e: third world, developing, etc.
